Commune Seymour shampoo

I have been using the commune Seymour shampoo since the first week of April this year and as I have nearly finished the bottle in June, I would like to share my thoughts on this product.
First impressions
When I first started using this product, I didn’t know if I had made the right choice in where I had spent my money. I found that initially the commune Seymour shampoo was really hard to lather on my head. I felt like I was just rubbing shampoo on top of basically dry hair. I have a lot of fine hair so it doesn’t take too long for my hair to get wet, which means that it shouldn’t take very long to create a lather easily with any shampoo. However, I believe that my scalp hadn’t adjusted to the natural ingredients within the commune Seymour shampoo, and instead used to my previous chemical-based shampoos - which I desperately wanted to change. This minor issue played no role in the results of my hair once dry, it was only an inconvenience in the showering process. To get over this adjustment period, I just had to use a bit more shampoo; eventually my scalp had adjusted in the first week or two and now I don’t require as much shampoo per wash. The product itself, carries quite a strong citron scent. This initially frightened me as I didn’t know how my scalp would react to the fragrance, however much to my approval, I haven’t had any reactions as despite its’ strong scent, the shampoo has quite a gentle formulation.
The product
My hair easily produces oil meaning that I like to wash my hair once a day before the oil is noticeable. This routine of oil build up has occurred through out all of the shampoos I have used, therefore I do not deduce my commune Seymour shampoo opinion against its ability in combating grease, instead I base my opinion on how it makes my hair feel between the period of washing. I can say that my hair always feels very clean and fresh; it also creates volume at my roots which is always great considering I have fine, straight hair. I believe that this shampoo maintains whatever condition your hair is in, which for some is fine, but for others it’s not so great. If you are looking for a product to improve the physical appearance of your hair (which this product does not claim to do), this isn’t the shampoo for you. But if you want a shampoo to maintain your hair condition but with non-toxic ingredients , I would highly recommend.
Price
This 750ml bottle has lasted me nearly 3 months, which is incredible because not only has it lasted 3 months, but because it has allowed me to wash my hair everyday for 3 months. Therefore if you are someone who perhaps your hair is very similar to mine, but either produces less oil, or you don’t mind using dry shampoo in between washes, this bottle can definitely last longer than 3 months, to maybe 4, potentially 5 months. This means that for the price of £42, I think that it is justifiable. For instance, beforehand when I was using a chemical-based, toxic shampoo, I was paying £20 per month, whereas now I am basically paying for 2 months worth of shampoo but for 3 months worth use - saving me £72 per year.
I bought the refill bottle which has the same metal container and amount of product but for £18 less and without a pump.
I hope that what I have written helps you decide whether this shampoo is for you. This is my first blog post so leaving a little comment would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading!
